About Lauren

A speaker who listens, connects and engages. An enthusiastic encourager, who captivates audiences and motivates others to put their faith into action. A woman – just like you. In everything she does, Lauren Roman brings freedom to life by sharing her message of hope and healing among the brokenness and everyday realities that we all experience…even Hollywood actresses.

Lauren’s passion for ministry is rooted in a powerful personal testimony. After growing up as a church-choir singing, overachieving, perfectionistic people-pleaser, she began her professional acting career at just 19 with a starring role as “Laura Kirk English” on the ABC daytime drama All My Children, and went on to appear in prime time TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Everything seemed perfect – but behind the scenes was a different story. Lauren suffered from an eating disorder and depression, triggered by the pressures of the entertainment industry, but rooted in her guilt over an abortion at age 18.

After nearly 10 years of struggling, Lauren finally found forgiveness and freedom through a post-abortion Bible study at a Pregnancy Resource Center in Los Angeles. Lauren discovered a newfound purpose to share the truth of Galatians 5:1 freedom – God was calling her to a different kind of stage! She became a fervent advocate for life-affirming ministries that empower women, raising support for their work.

In addition to being a top fundraising speaker for 3 years straight, Lauren is quickly becoming a sought-after keynote for women and youth events, retreats and conferences. She is determined to see women of all ages set free from not only the chains of sexual regret and food/body image issues, but also from perfectionism, addiction, people-pleasing, busy-ness, overachieving, low self-esteem, and anything else that prevents them from having the abundant life Jesus promises in John 10:10!

The dramatic flair and comedic skills Lauren has honed throughout her acting career have created a fresh and engaging voice, as she transparently shares her own testimony and brings Biblical truths to life with an energetic, practical and uniquely entertaining style. For a message that will bring you in touch with the love of the Father and freedom in new ways, few do it better than Lauren Roman.

As an accomplished singer and worship leader, Lauren also weaves music into her presentations to reach listeners’ hearts and minds on a profound level. Her independently released EP Songs of Hope and Healing is a collection of music dedicated to anyone on a recovery journey, featuring “Child of My Heart,” which is always a highlight of Lauren’s fundraising banquet keynotes.

Now based in Nashville TN, Lauren has continued acting in the Southeastern regional scene – she most recently appeared in the prime time drama Nashville and the Christian film Grace Unplugged. But her greatest joy and fulfillment is found speaking and singing throughout the U.S. and around the world, encouraging others to seek freedom and joy in Christ.

Lauren’s mission of encouragement is taking an exciting new form in 2019. A lifelong poet and writer, her debut children’s book Think Good, Be Good! will be published this summer. This timeless message about choosing our thoughts and renewing our minds is not just for children, but for every child of God at any age.

Whatever the medium, Lauren Roman is a passionate and compelling communicator. As she dedicates her life to uplifting and encouraging others, Lauren’s unforgettable beauty-from-ashes story is both an inspiration and a stirring call to action for us all.
